 Job Title: Night Manager (Male)

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Employment Type: Full-time Job Responsibilities

Take full responsibility for the smooth and efficient operation of the property throughout the night shift. Supervise, coordinate, and manage all night-shift employees, ensuring duties are properly assigned and completed to the required standard. Ensure 100% compliance with company policies, procedures, SOPs, service standards, and operational controls. Maintain high levels of guest satisfaction by ensuring all guest requests, complaints, and concerns are handled promptly, professionally, and effectively. Take ownership of guest issues and resolve them within the scope of authority, ensuring appropriate escalation to management where an issue cannot be resolved at shift level. Monitor the property throughout the night to ensure cleanliness, safety, security, maintenance, and service standards are consistently maintained. Conduct regular checks of guest areas, common areas, staff areas, and other operational points to identify and address issues proactively. Ensure all check-ins, check-outs, reservations, payments, guest requests, and front-office activities are handled accurately and professionally. Monitor and control cash, keys, guest information, company assets, and other sensitive operational items in accordance with established procedures. Ensure all incidents, complaints, maintenance issues, security concerns, and unusual occurrences are properly documented and reported. Maintain clear and accurate shift reports, including key operational activities, incidents, guest feedback, outstanding issues, and required follow-up actions. Ensure a comprehensive handover is provided to the incoming shift, with no outstanding matter left undocumented or unattended. Coordinate effectively with Security, Housekeeping, Maintenance, Front Office, Customer Service, and other relevant teams to resolve operational matters. Identify recurring operational or guest-service issues and recommend practical solutions to management. Monitor staff performance, punctuality, conduct, grooming, and adherence to service standards, escalating repeated or serious issues to management/HR. Protect the reputation, assets, security, and overall interests of the company at all times.

Key Performance Expectations

Consistent compliance with all company SOPs and operational standards. High guest satisfaction and prompt resolution of guest complaints and requests. Zero avoidable operational lapses resulting from negligence, poor supervision, or failure to follow established procedures. Timely and appropriate escalation of incidents, complaints, emergencies, and operational risks to the appropriate level of management. Accurate and timely completion of all shift reports, records, reconciliations, and handover documentation. Effective supervision of the night team, with clear accountability for staff performance and conduct. Proactive identification and resolution of operational issues before they negatively impact guests or business operations. Maintenance of a safe, secure, clean, and professionally managed property throughout the night. Effective communication and seamless handover between night and day operations. Consistently demonstrate professionalism, ownership, reliability, sound judgement, and a “no issue should go unnoticed or unreported” approach.
