 Job Title: HSE Officer / Assistant

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Employment Type: Full Time (Onsite) About the Role

We are seeking a competent and safety-conscious HSE Officer / Assistant to support the implementation and monitoring of health, safety, and environmental standards across our operations. The ideal candidate will have relevant HSE qualifications, hands on experience in an engineering, fabrication, or construction setting, and the ability to maintain accurate safety records and drive a strong safety culture within the work place.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

Implement and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and standards across the workplace, workshop, site. Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of the work environment, equipment, and process. Facilitate Tool Box Talks and safety briefings for staff and site personnel. Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective/preventive actions. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses; prepare detailed reports and follow up on corrective actions. Maintain accurate HSE records, statistics, and documentation/filing systems. Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) by all personnel. Coordinate fire safety drills and emergency response procedures. Monitor compliance with occupational health and safety regulations and industry standards. Liaise with regulatory bodies and support HSE audits/inspections.


Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:

HND/B.SC./B.Tech in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety Science, or related field. Minimum HSE Qualifications: HSE 1-3, First Aid, Fire Safety. 1-2 years practical experience, preferably in engineering, fabrication, construction, or similar workshop environment.


Required Skills & Competencies:

Competent in MS Word, Excel, HSE Statistics, Tool Box Talks, and Filing Control. Must be a male.
