 Job Title: Plant Manager

Location: Enugu

We are seeking a highly experienced and results-oriented Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and performance of our manufacturing plant. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal plant efficiency, equipment reliability, compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and the effective management of production and maintenance teams. The ideal candidate is an Electrical/Electronics Engineer with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in plant operations and maintenance. The candidate must possess valid COREN and NEMSA certifications and demonstrate strong leadership, technical, and problem-solving abilities.


Key Responsibilities

Manage the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing plant to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency. Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance schedules for all plant equipment. Monitor plant performance and identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization. Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Supervise, mentor, and evaluate plant personnel to drive high performance and accountability. Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime and production interruptions. Ensure electrical installations, maintenance activities, and operations comply with NEMSA regulations and industry standards. Prepare operational reports, maintenance records, and performance analyses for management. Develop and monitor plant budgets, maintenance costs, and resource utilization. Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, Procurement, and Engineering teams to achieve operational objectives. Manage inventory levels for spare parts, tools, and maintenance materials. Investigate equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive actions. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity. Ensure all plant assets are properly maintained and utilized effectively.

Job Requirements


Applicants must possess:

A Bachelor's Degree (B.Eng. or B.Sc.) in Electrical/Electronics Engineering. A minimum of 5 years' experience in plant management, plant maintenance, or manufacturing operations. Valid COREN Registration (Compulsory). Valid NEMSA Certification/Licence (Compulsory). Proven experience managing electrical systems, industrial equipment, and plant maintenance. Strong understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance practices. Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations. Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering. COREN Registration (Mandatory). NEMSA Certification/Licence (Mandatory). Additional certifications in Project Management, HSE, Maintenance Management, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma will be an added advantage.


Experience:

Minimum of 5 years' experience managing plant operations or industrial maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience supervising technical teams and ensuring operational excellence. Experience in electrical installations, industrial automation, or manufacturing systems is highly desirable.
