Reports To: Operations Manager / Store Manager Job Summary

The Driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, staff, documents, and other company items as assigned. The role requires a responsible and reliable individual who understands road safety regulations, maintains the assigned vehicle properly, and ensures that deliveries and other assigned trips are completed efficiently.

Safely transport goods, products, staff, and company materials to designated locations. Carry out deliveries and collections from suppliers, customers, branches, and other locations as assigned. Ensure goods are properly loaded, secured, and delivered in good condition. Conduct routine checks on the vehicle before and after each trip. Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of the assigned vehicle. Report vehicle faults, accidents, damages, or maintenance needs promptly. Keep accurate records of trips, fuel usage, mileage, and vehicle maintenance. Comply with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies. Ensure all necessary vehicle documents and driver's licence are valid and up to date. Assist with loading and unloading goods when required. Plan routes efficiently to ensure timely deliveries and minimize unnecessary fuel consumption. Maintain professional and courteous conduct when interacting with customers, suppliers, staff, and members of the public. Safeguard company property and goods entrusted to the driver. Perform other driving or logistics-related duties as assigned by management.

Requirements and Qualifications

Minimum of an SSCE / OND qualification. Valid Nigerian Driver’s Licence. Minimum of 2 years’ relevant driving experience, preferably in a retail, supermarket, logistics, or distribution environment. Good knowledge of Lagos roads and surrounding areas is an added advantage. Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work flexible hours when required. Must be reliable, punctual, responsible, and safety-conscious. Clean driving record with no history of serious traffic violations. Age : 40 yrs
