Chief Financial Officer

Key Duties

Strategic Financial Leadership:


Partner with the Head of School and Board of Governors to craft the school's financial strategy and sustainability plans.
Spearhead the creation and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Provide guidance on significant financial decisions, investments, and capital expenditures.
Assess financial risks and implement risk mitigation strategies.


Budgeting & Financial Planning:


Orchestrate the annual budgeting process in conjunction with department heads.
Oversee budget implementation and ensure fiscal responsibility.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial forecasts and reports.
Examine variances and suggest corrective measures.


Financial Operations Oversight:


Manage accounting operations, including payroll, accounts receivable/payable, procurement,
and banking.
Guarantee accurate and timely financial reporting in line with regulatory requirements.
Supervise financial audits and liaise with external auditors and tax consultants.
Uphold effective internal controls and protect school assets.


Compliance and Risk Management:


Ensure adherence to all applicable tax laws, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
Pinpoint areas of financial risk and spearhead risk management efforts.
Regularly update the Head of School and Board on compliance matters.


Team Leadership and Collaboration:


Guide and mentor the Finance and Accounts team.
Foster collaboration with other departments, including School Café, Facilities, and Resources.
Cultivate a high-performance, values-driven finance culture.
