Job Description
Lead the Technical Department, including technical superintendents and the base engineering team
Develop the fleet maintenance plan and improve the maintenance policy, in line with class and flag regulations
Raise vessel availability and reliability, keep vessels in class, and manage unplanned maintenance periods to reduce downtime and cost
Own the technical OPEX/CAPEX budgets and control fleet maintenance costs
Report technical performance weekly, monthly and quarterly, with effective use of the CMMS (Mx Suite)
Apply Q-HSE procedures and drive root-cause analysis and corrective action on technical incidents
RequirementsMust have a Master Marina Certification
A valid Chief Engineer’s licence (STCW Reg. III/2 or III/3) recognized by national and international authorities
A first degree or diploma in a relevant management discipline
Minimum of 8-10years’ experience in marine engineering and technical management
Experience operating and maintaining diverse vessels and machinery
Shore-base experience in an administrative or operational role, with a record of improving vessel utilization and performance
Experience leading people across remote locations
Strong client and stakeholder management skills
Knowledge of local and international regulatory compliance for vessel operations
Confident use of modern technology to deliver technical results
Advantage: ISM Code internal auditor training, project management certification, a postgraduate qualification in marine engineering or management.
