Road Engineering Role - Rivers

Purpose

The Road Engineer will provide the Project with quality engineering design and supervision services and give expert advice on assigned projects. The  Road Engineer will be required to audit construction conformance with design intent and also during supervision of road construction works to ensure the interests of the company and the client are adhered to by and large.

Responsibilities:


Providing design and drafting services as well as Carry out monitoring of the assigned road project progress. 
Ensure the proper programming, recording, measurement and accounting of the works by means of contemporary management and measurement techniques.
Preparing design drawings using AutoCAD or similar type software;
Supervise the works and approve all materials, construction techniques and workmanship on a day-to-day basis.
Prepare and submit a detailed Daily, Weekly and Monthly Project Progress Report of all assigned projects.
Provide Expert advice on all aspects of the works undertaken, especially regarding Project Supervision, Measurements, Contracts Monitoring and Quality Control.
Represent the company at Project Meetings.
Review and approve the working drawings prepared by contractors.
Review and approve the contractor’s work programs and sources of construction materials and characteristics thereof.
Review and approve as-built drawings
Process contractors interim certificate


Qualifications


B.Sc. in Civil Engineering;
Minimum of 6 (Six) years of progressive experience in civil or road engineering;
Good knowledge of AutoCAD or other computer based design packages;
Registration with Relevant Professional Bodies; COREN, NSE, etc.

Ability to mentor other staff in road design engineering and AutoCAD;
Skilled in monthly report writing to clients;
