Slum and Rural Ā Health Initiative is a nonprofit organization that started operations in 2017 and is officially registered in Nigeria, Ethiopia, and the Gambia It improves access to Ā healthcare information and services in Africa, especially in vulnerable and underserved communities using the tools of advocacy, research, and technology. As we expand our impact, we seek a dedicated professional to support the design, coordination, and execution of SRHIN's research studies, and lead data-driven decision-making to strengthen evidence-based programming for slum and rural communities.
Role Overview
Support the design, coordination, and execution of SRHIN's research studies, and lead data-driven decision-making to strengthen evidence-based programming for slum and rural communities.
Design and implement research protocols, tools, and methodologies for SRHIN's studies Coordinate data collection activities across field sites, ensuring quality and adherence to ethical standards Conduct quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis and produce research reports, briefs, and publications Support grant proposal development and research funding applications Supervise and provide guidance to Research Assistants and field data collection teams Liaise with community stakeholders, partners, and regulatory bodies (e.g. ethics committees) on research activities Contribute to the translation of research findings into policy and programme recommendations Maintain accurate research documentation, records, and data management systems
Required Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, Epidemiology, or a related field (Master's degree an advantage) Minimum of 3 years' experience in research coordination, data collection, or related research work Strong quantitative/qualitative research and analytical skills, with proficiency in relevant statistical software (e.g. SPSS, STATA, R) Experience with research ethics and regulatory compliance processes Excellent report-writing, communication, and supervisory skills Experience conducting research in low-resource, slum, or rural community settings is an advantage
