Job Description


Oversee daily operations in the workshop, ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and used properly.
Maintain an organized and safe working environment.
Good knowledge of operating and maintaining various workshop machinery including tractors, harvesters, planters, irrigation systems, and processing equipment.
Perform regular diagnostics and repair of agricultural machinery and equipment including tractors, bulldozers, harvesters, planters, and processing equipment.
Use diagnostics tools and equipment to identify mechanical faults and determine appropriate repair methods.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity and reliability of all machinery and equipment.
Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and reliability of machinery and workshop processes.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory. Prepare reports on equipment status and performance.
Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment, ensuring they meet operational requirements.
Ensure all activities in the workshop comply with health and safety regulations. Promote a safety-first culture.


Qualifications


Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Experience Minimum of 8 years of experience in a similar role within the agribusiness sector or a related industry.
Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing agricultural machinery.
Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
Knowledge of welding, fabrication, and machining processes.
Competency in using computer-based maintenance management systems (CMMS).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and leadership abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
