Position Purpose
To oversee various aspects of the supply chain in a manner that ensures timely and proper transportation, storage, and delivery of goods and other inventory items to production units, regional warehouse hubs, and stores
Primary Responsibilities and Key Performance Areas
Warehouse Administration
Strategically plan and oversee logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer service within the inventory team
Guarantee prompt receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods
Supervise the logistics activities of the division, including drivers and other support staff, while planning routes and processing shipments
Uphold inventory control and management
Ensure optimization of materials flow
Minimize stock losses and reduce receiving and/or issuing lead times
Achieve cost, productivity, accuracy, and timeliness targets
Maintain control of all fixed and variable costs
Collaborate proactively with various departments to realize efficiencies and manage expectations
Risk Mitigation
Reduce stock losses
Monitor and ensure adherence to laws, regulations, and OHS&E requirements
Confirm receipt of goods in accordance with Purchase Order specifications
Monitor quality, quantity, stock levels, delivery times, transport costs, and efficiency
Implement appropriate asset management procedures to maximize return on assets
Conduct ongoing evaluation of warehouse security and implement necessary measures to safeguard stock
Develop preventative maintenance systems and contingency plans.
Execute business continuity and resumption plans
Strategy and Consultation
Identify and implement cost-saving measures to reduce Food Concepts' expenses for storing and handling goods/equipment
Produce and analyze reports at predetermined intervals to support decisions related to inventory and working capital management
Establish metrics and analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements
Guide, coach, and train the inventory team
Actively manage the warehouse annual expense budget
Key Performance Indicators
Punctuality of stock item delivery to various locations
The quality and yield of cost-saving initiatives provided
Effectiveness of risk management/prevention of risk exposure in the warehouse
Knowledge Requirements
Proficiency in Inventory Management
Understanding of Cost management principles
Familiarity with applicable legislations, as well as policies and procedures
Demonstrates expertise in Warehouse and logistics management
Job Requirements
A relevant first degree in social/management/physical sciences
Possession of a Post graduate degree in Human Resources/Business Administration/Supply Chain Management or related field is beneficial
Membership of the CIPS, CILS, CILCS, CISCOM, Lean Six Sigma or any other related professional qualification is necessary.
Minimum of 5-6 years' experience in a similar role, particularly in the QSR/Food Industry sector
