 Job Title: Project Acquisition Officer

Location: Jabi, Abuja (FCT)

Employment Type: Full-time Job Summary

The Project Acquisition Officer is responsible for identifying and developing new project opportunities for the company, particularly in road construction, building construction, infrastructure, and other government-related projects. The officer will proactively engage relevant government officials and stakeholders, gather information on upcoming projects, and support the company in positioning itself to secure contracts.


Key Responsibilities

Proactively identify upcoming and potential construction and infrastructure projects across different states. Establish and maintain professional relationships with relevant government ministries, departments, agencies, and officials. Gather information on proposed, approved, and upcoming projects that may be suitable for the company. Visit government offices, project locations, and other relevant locations to source and develop project opportunities. Monitor government projects, procurement plans, tenders, and contract opportunities. Develop and maintain a database of potential projects and relevant contacts. Conduct preliminary assessment of identified projects and provide management with relevant project information. Work closely with the bidding/tendering team to provide information required for bid preparation. Follow up on project opportunities, tenders, and procurement processes. Represent the company professionally during meetings, site visits, and stakeholder engagements. Prepare regular reports on project opportunities, government engagements, and potential contracts. Support management in developing strategies for acquiring new projects and contracts.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Administration,  Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field. 2–5 years of experience in business development, project acquisition, construction, government contracting, tendering, or a related field. Proven ability to identify and develop new project and business opportunities. Strong networking and relationship-building skills, particularly with government institutions and key stakeholders. Good understanding of government procurement and contracting processes. Excellent communication, negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills. Ability to gather, analyze, and report project and market intelligence. Willingness to travel to different states to source and follow up on project opportunities. Strong follow-up, organizational, and reporting skills. Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet project acquisition targets. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic documentation/reporting tools. Existing contacts or experience working with government ministries, departments, agencies, or construction stakeholders will be an added advantage.
