Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Job Instructors to oversee job instruction and competency development for operations personnel in accordance with the NLNG Operations Assessment and Progression framework.
This role is vital for developing both new and seasoned operators by providing structured training, refresher courses, and hands-on operational guidance. Applicants must have extensive plant knowledge and operational proficiency in both LNG Field and Console operations.
The Company is a Gas Manufacturing enterprise engaged in Liquefied Natural Gas production, situated in Bonny Island, Rivers State, Nigeria.
Primary Responsibilities
Instruction & Training Delivery
Provide structured job instruction to new operations staff in line with NLNG's training and progression frameworks.
Conduct refresher training programs for experienced and senior operators to maintain high competency levels.
Utilize a combination of classroom training, on-the-job instruction, and simulations to reinforce learning and operational excellence.
Create training materials, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and visual aids tailored to plant operations.
Competency Development
Facilitate the technical growth and advancement of operations personnel based on formal assessments and job performance.
Assess and evaluate trainee progress and readiness for more advanced roles within Field and Console operations.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of training sessions, competency evaluations, and individual development plans.
Operational Excellence
Instill best practices in safety, operations discipline, and emergency response.
Work with operations teams to identify performance gaps and design targeted instructional interventions.
Offer expert guidance and mentorship in plant-specific systems, tools, and emergency procedures.
Standards & Compliance
Ensure training programs meet internal standards and comply with regulatory and industry requirements.
Assist with audits and assessments related to training effectiveness and operational readiness.
Promote continuous improvement in instructional delivery methods and training systems.
Desired Skills & Competencies
Strong facilitation and technical instruction abilities.
Comprehensive operational understanding of LNG processes and equipment.
Capability to mentor, assess, and motivate operations personnel at all levels.
Exceptional communication, planning, and evaluation skills.
Proficiency in utilizing simulation tools, SOPs, and job task analyses in training delivery.
Dedication to safety and process discipline.
Required Experience
10–15 years of experience in LNG plant operations.
Demonstrated capability in both Field and Console (DCS) operations.
Experience in instructional delivery or operational mentoring in an industrial setting is highly preferred.
Required Qualifications
HND/Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline.
Certifications in technical instruction, operations training, or LNG operations will be considered an advantage.
