Sitrid International School (SIS) Port Harcourt is an acronym for Steps In The Right Direction. It is a 21st century based Nursery, Primary school and Secondary School which opened a little over 10 years ago. It caters for children between the ages of 3 months - 16 years (Daycare to SS3 ). We are seeking an exceptional and innovative educational Christian leader to join our dynamic team as the Head of Nursery School. The successful candidate will have expert knowledge in childcare, child safety, and protection, as well as a deep understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. This is a unique opportunity to lead and develop our nursery provision, inspiring a team of educators to deliver high-quality care and education to our youngest learners.

Lead and manage the nursery team: Provide guidance, support, and coaching to ensure the team delivers high-quality care and education. Develop and implement nursery policies: Ensure policies are aligned with the EYFS framework and promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. Safeguarding and child protection: Ensure the nursery is a safe and secure environment, adhering to child safety and protection policies and procedures. Curriculum development and implementation: Develop and implement a curriculum that is aligned with the EYFS framework and meets the needs of our children. Assessment and tracking: Develop and implement systems to track children's progress, identifying areas for support and development. Parent and community engagement: Foster strong relationships with parents and the wider community, promoting the nursery school and its values. Technology integration: Ensure the effective use of technology in the nursery, including the use of digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning. Quality assurance: Monitor and evaluate the quality of nursery provision, identifying areas for improvement and development.

Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. Teaching certification: Qualified teacher status (TRCN) or eligibility for certification. Experience: At least 4 years previous experience in a nursery school setting, ideally in a leadership role. Child safety and protection training: Expert knowledge of child safety and protection policies and procedures. EYFS framework: In-depth knowledge of the EYFS framework and its application in a nursery setting. Technology skills: Competence in the use of digital tools and resources to enhance teaching and learning.

Leadership and management: Ability to lead and manage a team, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment. Communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues. Creativity and innovation: Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to promote high-quality care and education. Problem-solving and decision-making: Ability to analyze problems and make informed decisions that promote the best interests of children and the nursery.
