Environmental Officer

Job Summary


We are seeking a passionate and proactive Environmental Officer to support our environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives. 
This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or NYSC corps members with a background in environmental science, biology, chemistry, or related fields. 
The successful candidate will work with the HSE team to ensure adherence to environmental regulations, conduct monitoring activities, and support environmental awareness across company operations.


Key Responsibilities


Assist in implementing environmental policies and procedures in line with local and international standards.
Monitor environmental conditions (air, water, soil, waste) on-site and collect relevant data.
Support waste management and pollution control activities.
Participate in environmental audits, inspections, and risk assessments.
Maintain accurate records of environmental reports, permits, and compliance documentation.
Raise awareness and support environmental training programs among staff.
Liaise with regulatory bodies and assist with reporting as required.
Stay updated on relevant environmental laws, regulations, and best practices.


Qualifications


HND / BSc in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Chemistry, Biology, or a related discipline.
NYSC members or recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Basic understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability principles.
Good communication, observation, and report-writing skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is an advantage.
