We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Engineer
Location: Maitama, Abuja (FCT)
Employment Type: Full-time
Responsibilities
Project Supervision and Monitoring:Supervise ongoing construction and development projects.
Monitor contractors, artisans and construction workers.
Ensure projects are executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
Monitor project timelines to ensure timely completion.
Report project progress and challenges to management.
Infrastructure Development:Supervise the construction of estate roads and drainage systems.
Oversee the provision of water supply, electricity and other essential infrastructure.
Ensure proper layout and implementation of infrastructure within estates.
Identify infrastructure requirements for new estate developments.
Building Plan and Structural Assessment:Review building plans and architectural drawings from a technical perspective.
Ensure proposed structures comply with applicable building standards.
Assess structural integrity and identify potential construction defects.
Work with architects, surveyors and other professionals during project planning.
Cost Estimation and Budgeting:Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material estimates.
Estimate the cost of construction and infrastructure projects.
Recommend suitable and cost-effective building materials.
Monitor material usage to prevent wastage and unnecessary expenses.
Verify contractors’ work and payment claims before management approval.
Quality Control and Compliance:Ensure that construction materials meet required quality standards.
Inspect ongoing and completed projects.
Ensure contractors comply with approved specifications.
Identify and report substandard work:Ensure compliance with relevant building regulations and safety requirements. Maintenance and Repairs
Inspect company-owned buildings, facilities and properties.
Identify maintenance needs and recommend repairs.
Supervise maintenance of company facilities and infrastructure.
Ensure office buildings, staff accommodation and other company properties remain in good condition.
Documentation and Reporting:Prepare weekly and monthly engineering reports.
Maintain records of site inspections and project progress.
Document materials supplied, used and remaining.
Keep records of contractors, project costs and construction activities.
Submit technical reports and recommendations to management.
Health and Safety:Ensure safety procedures are followed on construction sites.
Identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures.
Ensure workers use appropriate protective equipment.
Report accidents, unsafe practices and site incidents.
SalaryN130,000 - N150,000 monthly.
