Counsellor and Academic Support Specialist

Job Summary


We are seeking a compassionate, proactive, and highly skilled School Counsellor and Academic support specialist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will provide emotional, social, and academic guidance to students, helping them navigate challenges, develop positive coping skills, and reach their full potential.
The counsellor will also work closely with parents, teachers, and school leadership to promote student well-being and maintain a supportive school environment.


Key Responsibilities


Provide one-on-one and group counselling sessions for students.
Identify and support students facing emotional, behavioural, social, or academic difficulties.
Develop and implement guidance programs that promote positive mental health and well-being.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school administration on student welfare issues.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions.
Organise and facilitate workshops on topics such as conflict resolution, career guidance, study skills, and resilience.
Respond to crisis situations and provide appropriate interventions.


Requirements


Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling, Psychology, Education, or a related field
Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children or adolescents, preferably in a school setting.
Relevant certification or licensure as a counsellor is preferred.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters professionally.
Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for working with young people.
